Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Blackwire Software LLC may receive, how it may be used, and how third-party services may process information when applicable.
1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Blackwire Software LLC ("Blackwire," "we," "us," or "our") may collect, use, and protect information in connection with BlackwireSoftware.com, support communications, and Blackwire software licensing and related services.
BlackwireSoftware.com is primarily a static informational website. Contact, Alpha/Beta testing, and affiliate forms are submitted to a Blackwire-controlled Cloudflare Worker. Cloudflare Turnstile is used to help block automated abuse before a submission is accepted.
2. Information you provide
If you use the website contact form, contact Blackwire by email, or communicate through another support channel, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, inquiry type, subject, company name, product information, license or order details, device or diagnostic information, and the contents of your message or attachments.
Please do not send full payment-card numbers, passwords, private encryption keys, or other information that is not needed to answer your request.
3. Website and technical information
Like most hosted websites, the services used to deliver and protect BlackwireSoftware.com may process standard technical request information such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, network information, and security or error data. This information may be used for site delivery, security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and basic operational analysis.
4. Purchases and software licensing
Paid checkout is available for applicable Blackwire products. Blackwire may use Sold through Link, LLC f/k/a Lemon Squeezy LLC ("Lemon Squeezy") as the payment provider / Merchant of Record and for supporting license-management services where applicable.
For transactions processed through Lemon Squeezy, Lemon Squeezy may process customer, billing, payment, tax, order, and licensing information under its own terms and privacy practices. Blackwire may receive the order, customer, license, and transaction information reasonably needed to deliver software, manage licensing, provide support, prevent abuse, and maintain business records. Blackwire does not need to collect full payment-card details through BlackwireSoftware.com.
BlackwireSoftware.com also uses Lemon Squeezy's affiliate referral script. When a visitor arrives through a Blackwire affiliate link containing an affiliate code, Lemon Squeezy may create an anonymous referral identifier so a later eligible purchase can be attributed to the referring affiliate. Affiliate tracking is provided by Lemon Squeezy and is subject to its applicable privacy practices and affiliate settings.
5. How we may use information
- Respond to questions, support requests, licensing issues, and business inquiries.
- Provide, activate, validate, support, or improve Blackwire software and related services.
- Maintain transaction, licensing, support, and business records when applicable.
- Protect Blackwire, customers, software, and services from fraud, abuse, unauthorized use, or security threats.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable agreements.
6. Third-party services
Blackwire may rely on third parties for website hosting, security, email, payment processing, licensing, software delivery, or other business functions. These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services and under their own policies.
BlackwireSoftware.com is hosted through Cloudflare Pages. Website forms are processed by a Blackwire-controlled Cloudflare Worker, protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, delivered to Blackwire through Cloudflare Email Service, and may be stored in Cloudflare D1 so Blackwire can track and follow up on submissions. Cloudflare processes these services under its applicable terms and privacy practices. Lemon Squeezy may be used for applicable paid checkout, Merchant of Record services, affiliate tracking and payouts, and supporting license-management functions. Links to third-party websites or services are subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
7. Sale of personal information
Blackwire Software LLC does not sell personal information.
8. Data retention
We may retain contact-form submissions, support communications, order and licensing records, and other business information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide service, maintain records, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, and satisfy legal or accounting obligations. Third-party service providers may also retain information according to their own policies. Retention needs may differ depending on the type of information and the service involved.
9. Data security
Blackwire uses reasonable administrative and technical practices intended to protect information. No website, email system, software service, or method of storage can be guaranteed completely secure, so users should avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
10. Your choices and privacy questions
You may contact Blackwire to ask a privacy question, request correction of information you previously provided, or ask about deletion where applicable. Some records may need to be retained for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, or licensing reasons.
